Brockville Ontario Speedway Breaks the Seal on a Busy 2015 Schedule

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

Weekly short track racing is all about building on your strengths. After a solid 2014 campaign and a series of popular pre-season events, Brockville Ontario Speedway is ready to kick an exciting year of action into high gear.

The curtain is set to rise Saturday, May 9th as the ‘The BOS’ roars to life for a new calendar. Superior Cellular and Sound presents the 2015 opening night, with DIRTcar 358 and Sportsman Modifieds, Rookie Sportsman, Street Stocks and 4 Cylinder Rookies, plus Vintage racing. Track owner and promoter Paul Kirkland says that after a long, cold winter, everything is set to roll for 2015 at the popular 3/8th mile clay speedplant on Temperance Lake Road, just north of the city.

“Social media sites have been buzzing for a couple of months and everyone is happy to see the new race season just days away,” said Kirkland. “I’m hoping we’ll pick-up where we left off at the end of last year and carry that momentum through the entire season.”

Kirkland points to some impressive 2014 numbers, where close to 40 different drivers scored points in at least one 358 Modified main event. In the Sportsman Modified division, nearly 45 teams took a feature race green flag. The car counts were strong in every division, giving fans plenty of excitement every time the fields left the staging area.

The opening month of the agenda is also one of the busiest, with the first round of the Ogilvie’s Auto and Fleet Service series for Modified and Sportsman teams taking the green flag Saturday, May 16th and the return of the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified Tour Wednesday, May 27th.

Other marquee events on Brockville Ontario Speedway’s new schedule include The Greatest Show on Dirt, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Friday, July 31st and the annual DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals, October 16th and 17th. Gates open at 5:00, with racing underway at 7:00 for most weekly events. Be sure to like the Brockville Ontario Speedway page at www.facebook.com and follow the track on Twitter for the latest news and information throughout the year.

His first feature win in a number of years – combined with a handful of top 5’s and a dozen top 10 finishes – gave Kingston, Ontario’s Bryan Rogers 8th place in the 2014 DIRTcar 358 Modified point standings at Brockville Ontario Speedway.
