SOUTHERN ONTARIO SPRINTS TOUR HEADS BACK TO BRIGHTON THIS SATURDAY
By Tommy Goudge (July 7, 2009) – The Southern Ontario Sprints tour is back in action at Brighton Speedway this Saturday, July 11th for the fourth round of the championship series, with defending champion Glenn Styres leading the way.
Styres has won both SOS races held at Brighton this season, and raced to a runner-up finish at South Buxton behind Adam West to build a solid points lead. Chasing Styres in the standings are Justin Martin, Ryan Hunsinger, Bob Crawford, and Warren Mahoney. The rest of the top ten includes Adam West, Keith Dempster, rookie of the year contender Tyler Rand, Dick Mahoney, and Jamie Collard.
Meanwhile Rick Wilson isn’t chasing points, but he is chasing the feature win at Brighton as he tries to add to his lead atop the all-time SOS feature wins list, and all of the drivers will also be looking to stake their claims in the Riverside Bar and Grill mini-series points fund.
The last SOS event at Brighton on June 6th ended with Glenn Styres in victory lane, followed by Keith Dempster, Justin Martin, Ryan Hunsinger, and Jamie Collard. Styres, Hunsinger, and Collard also recorded top five finishes in the opening round of SOS competition at Brighton on May 17th.

Dekeyser Excavating will present the evening’s activities, featuring the fourth round of the SOS season presented by Holiday Inn of Trenton, along with Brighton’s popular Canadian Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Stingers, plus the first ever Excavator Olympics, with proceeds going to Quinte Access and Brighton Speedway Chase for the Cancer Cure charities. Make sure to come early and catch Brighton’s pre-race show, the Lucas Oil Hot Seat, LIVE in the courtyard starting at 6:20 p.m.!
