For the second straight week in a row, Eric Yorke scored a top three finish at Sunset Speedway as he finished second in the feature.
Yorke would start the first heat seventh and finish third. He would start the second heat fourth and come home with the win.
As a result of his current points’ position, he would start the feature 11th. He would make his march towards the front quickly, moving up to seventh by lap three. He would then pass Shawn Gerrior to move into sixth on lap four. On lap five, he would pass teammate Lisa DeLeeuw and Terry Clodd to move up to fourth. The climb would continue with passes on Brian Love and Terry Woodley on lap seven to move into second.
While Yorke was trying to catch Steve Belanger for the lead, Warren Paxton would pass Yorke for second on lap 12. Paxton would pass Belanger for the lead on lap 15, with Yorke able to pass Belanger for second.
Yorke would chase down Paxton and run on his bumper for the rest of the race, but would not be able to get by or the lead and would finish second.
