JESSE’S JOURNEY TO PARTNER WITH CPT RACING EXPERIENCE
Go Kart track at upcoming event to benefit London-based organization

London, ON (November 12, 2008): CPT Entertainment Inc. is proud to announce a partnership with Jesse’s Journey, a London-based organization committed to finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The partnership will centre around a temporary go kart race track at the upcoming event, the CPT Racing Experience presented by CASE ‘N DRUM OIL LP and Kendall Motor Oil (January 24 & 25, 2009 at the Western Fair Agriplex). At the event, guests will have the chance to actually drive one of the karts with all proceeds going to Jesse’s Journey.
Many people are familiar with the story of John and Jesse Davidson.  It began to unfold in the summer of 1995 when John, at the age of 49, set out to push Jesse -- his 15-year-old son who had been diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy -- across Ontario in his wheelchair. The resulting 3,339-kilometre journey became a rallying point for people in communities across Ontario and all of Canada and generated $1.5 million dollars for research.
Three years later, John set out alone and walked across the entire country. It was an 8,300-kilometre endeavour that took 286 days to complete. John’s walk generated an additional $2 million in donations made by Canadians all across the country.
Today, the need remains for funding of research as the people behind Jesse’s Journey continue to work toward finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Race fans can help by taking part in the go kart track at the upocoming CPT Racing Experience. The track, sponsored by Demar Aggregates and London’s Best Rock FM 96, will be active for both days of the event. The karts are being provided by F1 Sarnia Karting.
“We’re very proud to have the chance to help Jesse’s Journey, and grateful to Demar Aggregates, FM 96 and F1 Sarnia Karting for helping us to create the opportunity,” said Kevin Bulmer of CPT Entertainment. “What attracted me to motorsports in the first place was the sense of family and community, and so we feel that bringing Jesse’s Journey into the CPT Racing Experience is a perfect fit.”
John Davidson, the founder of Jesse’s Journey, said, “We are fortunate to be included as a fundraising partner of the CPT Racing Experience, which promises to be a great family weekend in London.”
