Confusing finish to Late Model night????
« on: August 11, 2007, 12:24:51 AM »
Just hoping someone out there can explain to me how the heck Jackson was awarded the feature win after he was involved in a late race incident which brought out a caution.  A very similar situation occured in the heats and instead of doing a caution checkered since there was less than a straightaway to finish they lined them up and ran to the finish.  Yet during the feature they instantly threw the yellow checker and handed the win to Jackson.  Not that I'm expecting him to say no I don't want the win, but it sure looked to some of the fans in corner 1 that once again Kawartha is playing favourites.  Note it wasn't only the fans that were confused by the finishing order as I picked up comments on my scanner with similar questions.

I figured you would be there but didn't see you at the track Derek.  I must say that was one of the most inconsistent called events there this year.  It just doesn't make sense how you reward 2 cars for being involved cars.

Race was called on time, so they went back a lap to get the running order, and it was a blatant spin of the 71 on the 84 coming to the white flag. Derek Lynch was supposed to call the race right at 10 but because of the green white checkered scenario the wanted to see what would happen. Mayhem and confusion is what he got, but feel he made the right call. Second place car spinning the leader you should never condone that and I am not sure where the 71 officially ended up. Let talk about the crowd!

I absolutely agree the crowd was massive there last night, they were coming in on the bus load.  I got scared when I went to pay for my ticket as I never have to wait in line like last night.LOL

As for the right call I don't totally agree, my point being the consistency of calls seems to always favour 1 driver whether it was the right call or not.  Plus I would say that 84 was at just as much fault due to the level of knocking each other around that was going on with them and the 71.  So he had to know what was coming going into the last corner.  If that was the case then 81 should have been given his spot back when he was blatantly spun by 99.
