Didn't they have the new Chevy body on display there as well?

it sure did not look new. looked like same car as always and the one from when they unveiled the series. pretty bad looking car though compared to what some cascar teams like thomson or whitlock present on the inside. look very very saturday night weekend racer type i guess inside the car

10 or 11 either way they needed larger tires ive said that for 2 years. cascar is supposed the pinnacle of stock car racing ni canada yet late models in ontario have 10inch tires when they were running 8s ans 9s so i am glad for the change

larger tires won't fit in a lot of the chassis' that are out there, it's not such a great plan if the bodies have to be stretched and messed with just to clear tires, i've heard about the headaches and they haven't decided on 10's or 11's yet

I think that you are correct about the tires and they do go on fairly easy they fit the Dodge and Fords with out any major changes but there will be changes to the Chev that are minor.

I am curious you can make the wider tire fit for sure but when they mandate the offset that kind of takes the ease out of it doesn't it?  So if your track width doesn't meet the rules with the ruled offset you will need to lengthen or shorten your whole rearend?
How much money are you going to have to spend in front end parts to get all of your front end geometry and scrub radius correct with the required offset?  I have to think that SS33 would have a pretty good idea as to where the frame ends up to the side of the tire as well as the tinwork since he did work at McColls for a while.  I just can't seem to see how this isn't going to price even more guys out of racing these things

Mike McColl will have to install trap doors in his new car's floor so the drivers can stick their feet out to help stop them in the corner. The car's didn't have enough brakes for the tires in the past, so bigger faster tires should make things really interesting!

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...Looking at what they did (or didn't do) for the Busch East/West/, Elite, Weekly Series and even the Mod tours, is it any wonder that we're around the same par as the rest of them?

I believe the tire thing there is not a choice as Gooyear will not make the old tire anymore as for the brakes they are not the greatest but over the last couple of years the rotors and pads have gotten a lot better I think that it will be called brake mangement or hang on one of the two.

I hope somebody is lobbying for better brakes,  With the expense that teams are going through preparing cars for the wider tires, I don't think anyone would object to the cost of new calipers and brackets.  Pretty low relative cost for an issue that should be considered from a safety point of view-brakes have been an issue in the past, and faster cars with more rubber on them need good reliable brakes.  Brake management is
an answer, but at least give the driver the equipment to manage.  This really should be a no-brainer.

The Tire change for the Chevy teams is not a factor at this point because we dont have any tires available to us yet to try and fit. I called all of the Comp.Tire dealers and they said there is a hold on the tires for all series running them. They claim they are donig an inventory to make sure there is enough to go around and once NASCAR says they can be released, Goodyear will then be able to sell them.
The way things are going, lets just hope that we dont have to wait until the second week of May to start fitting tires as the rummor is we are getting a new nose- we have to move the front fenders out, we have to fit a wider hood, we  have to change our crash bars on the front and sides, and last but not least we have to fit a new dash and front windshield.
This is all work we can do in one night....... sure we can !!
Come on boys- GET THE LEAD OUT !!
