Monster Jam III Truck Fire
« on: September 16, 2009, 09:54:31 PM »
Here is a video of the nephew of a friend of mine that ran the trailer race at Capitol City. Somehow his truck caught on fire. The video is from a distance so you can't see him get out but he does get out safely.
And don't blame me for the music. I didn't make it I'm just linking it :-\

Here is a comment he made about the video
"That was me in that truck, was a heck of a finish.. This is the first time I see it from this angle showing how much flame there was.. I lost the brakes with the flame some how, so was real slow stopping.. heating up fast, had to bail out window. Luckily only small burn on wrist and neck, very minor considering! Nice footage :) "

So you know the driver eh?  It was amazing he got out with such little injury!  Thank god!

I was actually sitting 2-3 rows in front of you, you can see our hats in the video.  The truck went up in flames, provided some great entertainment until it went up completely in flames!  The feeling in the crowd went from..COOL..to OH SHIT GET OUT!  Glad he's ok!!

No I don't know him and I wasn't there but from where you say you were it must have been quite a sight. My friend (his nephew is the driver) sent me the link to this on you tube so I thought I would share. The comment I posted from the driver was a cut and paste from the you tube site. The only reason I linked it here was because he was alright and I'm told the driver thought it was "scary cool" :o

Guess I missed all the excitement as I left before the enduro race. The fire looked more exciting than Brutus running over the same car repeatedly. I had gone for the 100 lap late model which due to the underwhelming turnout of 8 cars was switched t0 three 25 lappers.

Eight late models wow that's sad .

I don't understand why they pay $1000 to win an enduro race but won't post a decent purse for the Late models.

I know a couple Capital City Late Model guys passed on Monster Jam to race at Kawartha tonight. My nephew Matt Moffitt  #44  is  running Kawartha tonight.

Seems that McPherson decided to run Kawartha rather than CCS after he quit the Castrol series.
