Whitteker Finishes Second At Edelweiss; Cornwall Rained Out….Again

Craig Revelle – Finish Line Web Design

August 22, 2010

After a one-week hiatus at Edelweiss Speedway, Luke Whitteker and his Iroquois, Ontario based Whitteker Motorsports team visited the track, looking to capture another win before the season comes to an end.   Whitteker also had a race scheduled at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night.

Whitteker finished second on Friday night, locking up third place in points, and the Modified Rookie of the year award at Edelweiss Speedway for 2010.  Whitteker had a very impressive season, finishing consistently in the top five each week, including two feature wins in his Rust Check, Coldwell Banker, Steve Summers Coburn Realty, Jim’s Performance Plus, Parcoll Products/Napa Auto Parts, Quaker State, Riverside Pontiac, Toy Storage, Wells and Son Construction, ERD Engine Research and Development, and Finish Line Web Design sponsored Bicknell car.

On Sunday, the Whitteker team was hoping to finally get back on track at Cornwall Speedway after the last two weeks of rainouts.  Once again, however, the track had to cancel, as all day rain made it impossible to get their program in.

This coming weekend, Whitteker will be back at Edelweiss for a 100 lap Quebec-Ontario Super Challenge Series event.  Whitteker will be looking to use the experience from racing at Edelweiss all season to his advantage in this 100 lap event.  On Sunday night, Cornwall Speedway is back in action, and hopefully Mother Nature can co-operate.  Whitteker currently sits in sixth place in track points, and has a solid lock on the Rookie of the Year award for Cornwall as well.
