WHAT, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.  Yes I realize the schedule is "subject" to change but twice in one week.
I have made alot of phone calls and although some were not happy with the schedule change that we walked away with after our last race, everyone went home and rearranged work and personal schedules and now to have to do this again, NOT!!!!!!!
Looks like we will be using our dropped night along with at least 5 or 6 of the other regulars that i have spoke with.

I talked to Brad this evening and expressed my concern on the telephone. Like you Truckers, the 16th right from the getgo was origonally a scheduled off weekend for us. I have my wedding anniversary, my daughters birthday happening as well the 67 is away at camp. I explained that unfortunatley our 3 cars would not be able to attend on the 16th.......I did however suggest that for us Cars and Trucks......perhaps he could put us back on the 23rd as he had rescheduled recently.......and because of the rainout yesterday and today....let the 6.5 sprints run this weekend (on the 16th)........I think that would satisfy pretty much everyone.......(at least in my mind)....but I'm not everyone.....so I will leave it at that.

I think we need to realize that Brad and Sure are in a no win here, regardless of what they decide, not everyone will be in favor of their decision.

Regardless of their final decision, I am cool with it......no biggie.

RJ

It is a biggy however when we come home from racing and have to rearrange not only my work schedule but my son's who happens to have 3 part time jobs so he can help to pay for his Saturday night fix.  Yes I realize the schedule is subject to change BUT twice in a week.  We came home, immediately following our last race in GB, done some fast talking with bosses and got our work schedules switched as we were put into the schedule on the 23rd (which originally we were not) but then a few days later to find out that the 23rd date has been taken back off the schedule only to find it put into the schedule on the 16th.  My son works very hard to help cover the costs of his racing and now he may have to make the choice of loosing possibly one, two or heaven forbid all three of his summer jobs and his 3rd place overall in points.
I could go on and on but like it has been said, they won't be able to please everyone.   I commend you for making a call to the track and if I wasn't so dissapointed and mad at this time I too may make that call but unfortunately it may result in a one or two week suspension for me because anyone that knows who I am knows I am going to say what is on my mind and right now that is not a good thing!!!!!

I`m not to sure adding the 6.5`s is a good idea either!!! it`s a scheduled week off for us and we spent hundreds of dollars to attend the nascar race in michigan!

I can see that this change is affecting even more teams than I thought, not good for moral!!
I will be making my phone call later this evening to voice my dissapointment, even though it won't do me any good but at least if i don't have my say, I will keep it all bottled up then I know it won't be good.

By the sounds of it, they should be running you guys on the 23rd instead.  I'll take your side on that one, as I've got that night off from the Can-Am, and I'd need my weekly racing fix..  plus that gives everyone more time to schedule their non-racing lives around it.

Well we originally should have been racing in Varney that weekend (the traveling guys at least). Next year, start of season, it should be, "Here is the schedule, Sundays are rain dates."

Guess it don't matter when we race now, my son has lost his job over this so no sense making a long distance phone call to voice an opinion when it isn't going to change anything! >:(

I is real disappointing to hear the Wes lost his job over this reshuffling of the schedule. I also hope that the only impact that this has your trip to Michigan is a slight delay in your departure time. I don't want hear that Tony got off easy ...lol.

I too am very disappointed in the way the track has been run this year. We received schedule at the beginning of the season and we all adjust our summer around this schedule and for it to be changed for the third time this year is unacceptable.  It seems to me that any time an outside series comes to the track the biggest divisions are forced to be there so they have enough gate $$$ to pay these guys, I don't know about the rest of you racers but I feel second rate and had enough. They need to look after the racers that support the track weekly and remember what side their bread is buttered ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Brad and Sue have done good job with the track but I think its time they step down and let someone else bring the facility to another level. I really don't think it's acceptable to change the schedule like they have on a whim, why bother having a schedule then!

Please, tell me who would possibly take it on and work as hard as they do to try and make it work.

I'm sorry man, but you've got to think about that before you say something like that.  For all they do for the track, and what they've been getting out of it; it's not going to take much of a nudge to knock them over, cause they've already been on the fence for a while.

Unless you can think of people that'd be willing to put the time, effort and money into the track, you've got to keep helping them out, or you won't be racing anymore this year.

From what I've been hearing, the regular divisions have not been bringing out the spectators that they should be.  The average spectator to car ratio is embarrassing.  Unfortunately, Brad and Sue are far too busy with everything that goes on at the track to have time to get out and promote the track themselves more often, but I have always felt that promoting the track and races is a big part of being a driver/team member.  It's better for everyone at the track if you promote the races more to the public.  The more people that show up obviously helps the track out, but it'll also help you get more sponsorships, and driver exposure.

I'm not saying that no one is doing their part, as there are a lot of teams out there that help out a lot and bring out a lot of people, but everyone has got to do their part to help make GBS a success, then they won't have to pull this stuff on the racers just to make it to the next race.

It sucks that they keep throwing curve balls all the time, and it's a kick in the nuts, and I'm not saying that it's right for them to do it, BUT they've got A LOT more to lose in this deal than anyone else here does.  Remember that.

Corey.

Unfortunately Murray there will now be no trip for me to see my first ever Nascar race in Michigan this coming weekend because now that my son has lost his job our racing budget has been changed and in order for him to finish out this year we are going to have to use the money that was saved for this nascar adventure and put it towards his share of racing expenses.
However I hope you all have a safe race this coming weekend as I will not be coming to the track this weekend either.
And on a lighter note I wish to say a huge THANK YOU to Rob James for the phone call he made to me last night, you helped me to remember there is light at the end of the tunnel and your kind and warm words were very much needed, so thank you for that.
