Bryan Mercer Motorsports Hosts 2013 Sponsor Appreciation Event

A number of different components need to work well together to create a successful race team. The driver, chassis set-up and pit crew must be in sync, but one of the most important puzzle pieces is the support of the marketing partners.
Heading into the 2013 campaign, Bryan Mercer Motorsports knew it would be a complicated season. The Port Hope, Ontario based team had plans to compete on a variety of different stages, making selected starts on the American-Canadian Tour as well running an event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park/Mosport Speedway and close to a handful of shows at Peterborough Speedway. Driver Bryan Mercer says that travelling to the different tracks was made much easier with the strong support they received from the team’s sponsors.
“We’ve always been fortunate to have some amazing people share the same enthusiasm for what we do,” said Mercer. “Many of the companies, organizations and products who’ve partnered with us have been part of the #81 team for a number of years. That type of loyalty says a great deal for what we’ve been able to accomplish at the different tracks where we’ve raced.”
To thank their supporters, Bryan Mercer Motorsports will hold a Sponsor Appreciation Event - Wednesday, September 18th at 6:30. The team’s backers are invited to join Bryan Mercer and the crew at Quantrill Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac, 265 Peter Street in Port Hope. The evening will also be a send-off for the team, as they prepare for their second consecutive trip to the 5th Annual Bond Auto American-Canadian Tour Invitational – Saturday, September 21st – at New Hampshire, Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire.
“Our team is very excited to be heading to the Magic Mile again this year,” said Mercer. “There are 43 starters scheduled to take the green flag and we’re one of just 2 drivers from Ontario to earn an invitation. We came away with a 10th place finish in 2012, so I’m hoping for a strong showing again this time. Just racing on the same track as some of the biggest names in NASCAR – during the same weekend as the second show in the Chase for the Sprint Cup – is quite an honour.”

www.nhms.com ...While some of his results may not have been exactly what Mercer and the team had hoped for, the #81 Chevrolet Impala SS didn’t finish outside of the top 4 in the final rundown during events at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park/Mosport Speedway and Peterborough Speedway. In a touching moment, Mercer scored the Late Model main event win in the season finale Saturday, August 24th at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Oval. He was able to share the victory lane celebration with his father Ron, who had suffered a stroke late in 2012.
Mercer has tentative plans to conclude his 2013 schedule racing in the Pro Late Model division during Peterborough Speedway’s 21st Annual Autumn Colours Classic. The Port Hope, Ontario speedster finished 4th in last year’s main event.
