Excitement Builds for Shediac Season Opener
Shediac, New Brunswick - This Saturday at 7, the gates will swing open on the 2012 season of racing at Shediac's Centre for Speed for the “Dominion Lending Schools Out Celebration”.
Rogers Cable will make the event an historic first with the taping of the race for rebroadcast throughout NB next week and have been busy installing cable for their cameras all this week. They will be using 5 Cameras including a remote so it should be a great TV show an a great opportunity for drivers to show off thier sponsors. The event is one of 8 being taped for rebroadcast at a later date.
Events scheduled for Saturday include a Late Model Sportsman 50 lapper, plus Street Stocks and 4 cylinders. WingNut will be in attendance for the young kids and all School age children (including college ages up to 22) will be admitted FREE for this event in celebration of the end of school. Congratulations to you all on a successful year - now lets celebrate! Adult admission for thos of us no longer in school is $10.00
Fans in attendance at the event will have a chance to be selected "Rogers Fan of the week" which will include race tickets to next weeks MetalCore Maritime Super Series (Race 1 of 3), food and a chance at 2 airline tickets anywhere in North America. So... wear something that'll get you noticed or be the loudest fan in the grandstands or carry a poster of your favorite driver or something else that will get you noticed by the cameras and you could be the winner.
Nova Scotias Andrew Starks (The Newfie Bullet) has announced that he plans to compete this year at the CENTRE as well as several other new and returning competitors including Dan Duke, John Rankin and possibly even Laurie Cormier (multi time track champ) in their Late Model Sportsman cars. Justin MacDonald joins the Street (Shediac) Sportsman after winning the Four Fun Division Championships last year and top runner Josh Simon plans to be back in the new Mini Stock Division.
There are many other enhancements, additions and changes that have been made to enhance the entertainment experience at the track but more on these later. Put it all together it will be a fun, “Cannot miss”, HISTORIC Stock Car event and season at the CENTRE this year so we'll hope to see you this Saturday at 7
