If you were in Algonquin Park in 1917 would you point out to Tom Thomson that he was painting the wrong rocks and trees? I think people are throwing mud to satisfy their own agendas, whatever they may be.

I think i would have told Tom Thompson to paint faster since he died July 1917 .

Nobody is throwing mud nor do i think anyone here has a sinister agenda . We are simply critiquing the critic .

I read the Sun from time to time.

I read articles I like, I read articles I don't like.

I still buy the paper about two or three times a week.

If you all think you can write better articles I'm sure Greg McPherson would love to see your stuff. Hell I'd love to see it too. Step up to the plate or accept it for what it is. A knowledgeable writer's story and opinion.

I would have told Tom Thomson not to argue with drunken German-Americans about the war... But I have the playbook there LOL :)

I have seen what this guy goes through first hand with the selections, its not a fun process because you know someone will complain about the list, but hey! lets keep knocking it so he stops doing it, its what we do best in canadian racing.....kill something good right? I had objections to the third quarter about Ryan Semple being listed because of starting up front for a few nights and not falling back, putting up top finishes but I didnt go on about who should have been in there? Jibby is right, top ten can only have 10, and Dave also has a good point with making very strong cases for other guys. There are easily 25 drivers that deserve to be there, so to the naysayers....put up your lists so we can cut yours down? Where you think one should be in the top 10, I bet 10 people will argue why that person shouldnt be. Its just what we do best in Canadian short track racing, not congradulate winners, but to find fault I guess?  :-\

I think we can all agree that Spence puts alot of time and thought into comprising his list and articles and does an excellent job with it.. Its like the referee in hockey/ football, the flagman in racing, you call a foul against one you have the competitors/fans of the other team in an uproar.. This is something I've seem many times first hand with my Dad being a referee/umpire/flagman for many many years.. The only thing I would like to see is the TQ Midget guys be included (if they arent currently) after all their ashphalt racers too just like a Legend,LLM, or Thunder Car. I hope this is something that he will consider as 2011 approaches..

From all of us here at CRO... Good job and thanks Spencer

i dont think anyone is tearing the list down or the job he did...all were doing is chatting about his selections and maybe suggesting people we may have had on it...heck people are doing it with the selection of team Canada, who should be playing for the Leafs, Mr. Blackwell's best dressed list, so it sure isnt just exclusive to this list or canadian short track stock car racing...and i have to agree with ernie...i'll have to watch for the next magazine and see the full list.

Do you think the persons who picked Team Canada have been around the sport for longer then 4 or 5 years ?  I wonder if the announcer at the ACC has allot to do with selecting who plays for the leafs ?

Edwin, you seem like a shit disturber.....why does he have to be around the sport more than this past year? The rankings are based on the last two months of the season..sept and oct. Why does his length around the sport matter? The guy knows his stuff...I see no reason to be doubting his abilities are putting out a rankings....I disagreed with a fw guys and placings...like how can Brandon not be put int he #1 spot after maybe the best AC of all time....but if you talked to Spencer you would get a fair response and in the end.....it's his damn list...

I have no issue with anyone second guessing guys being on and not being on and this is the reason Spencer does it I am sure...to create a buzz, but to go after his character and knowledge and time served is baloney, because my grandpa has been around racing since the 60's helping Ron Mace and he couldn't tell you shit about the drivers at other tracks...

Knock the rankings all you want, thats why they are there...but knocking Spencer is ridiculous, childish and comes across as jealousy more than anything.

Thayne: I could be wrong, but I thought they were for the whole year.
ITMN issue 10 had the rankings for Sept. 26 - Nov. 1st.
Issue 12 has the year end rankings.

Thayne you seem like a spoiled fat kid in his mid 20s that still lives in his parents basement .....

You may want to go back and see that at NO TIME did i defame Spencer's character .

If you don't understand why you need to be around the sport for longer then 15 minutes before you start to grade those that have been in it and winning for decades i doubt i can explain it to you here .

I did not know your grandfather once changed a tire for Ron Mace but i don't blame him for Ron being a life time mid packer .
