I agree that Poulton has had a very good start to his season, though keep in mind when I first wrote these rankings, he hadn't raced more than 2 or 3 nights

Spencer,

One driver that you've missed, who you saw on Sunday..

Thunder, 53x Mike Poulton. He has beaten both Reyns and Baker on their home tracks this year. Except for 602 powered thunders, I would say thats the fastest Thundercar in Ontario...

What is the ride height and total height rule there? That 53x car looks more like a LM from the early 80's... it's low.

Spencer and I had a discussion on including Thunder drivers period in this....let alone pure stocks...

My stance was that I am not half the driver fellas running LLM/LM/oscaar's are and imo if this is driver power rankings the bigger the division the better the driver...the man leading the oscaar season shld be #1....but thats just my opinion...

Great Job Spencer! I think you'll find that Walters has another LLM feature win this year at the P'boro season opener though

Dunno ;) And that says it all..

Body 6" from ground without driver
frame 6" from ground to lowest point of frame, driver out
engine 12" crank center to ground

He's been at Sunset.

It looks like a LM because its a LLM with leafs and camero steel body work. As you know the rules state that 1) suspension mounting points must be stock, 2) Any section of frame that is rotted can be replaced with tube. Mounting points are stock location is my understanding and the "whole camero stock frame was rotted".

Haha that's awesome, good for him. Creative interpretaion of the rules  ;) Hope to see that car at Barrie for the season end Invi.

I actually appreciate the fact that Spencer included the other classes throughout the province. To be honest Thayne if you are doing well enough to be considered the best of the province in ANY class my hat is off to that person. I would not be interested in running anything but a Thunder Car right now (even if I had an unlimited budget) excepting maybe the CVM (that's a nostalgia thing). I would suggest there are other drivers like me (I don't know for sure but a few come to mind who like what they are doing and have no plans to move up).

I think Spencer's list gives an accurate view of the race scene across the province. Excellent job Spencer.

I get that Tex, but put Eddy Tremblay/Dave Doucette in a LM (not saying they aren't great drivers cause they are) But put them in there and it would take some major adjustment time i would think... that is what my point is...

Thanks a bunch buddy

and Thayne, regardless of what I said yesterday, what I say today and what I might say tomorrow, you're going to have your own views and thats just fine. But it comes down to this, Racing Budget does not equal Driving Skill.

and Without naming names and singling people out for being poor drivers, theres no other way I can explain that to you. But if you want to honestly tell me that Dave Bailey is not as good a wheel man as half the Late Model drivers in the province, then you certainly need to get to some other race tracks more often.

Thayne were you not one of the guys who who complained about drivers who "buy a ride" in Sprint Cup?
There are great drivers who can drive every type of car. There are drivers who are no good in any. Some drivers can only drive one type of car.
Who is to say that if some of the guys you mentioned, if they had a budget for a serious LM or whatever would not excel in that racing discipline.
Basically with that attitude you're saying Tony Stewart sucked as a driver until he broke into Cup.

No disrespect to drivers in the upper classes of racing.

I get that...i really do...and Spencer I get that as well but u just made my point..he is as good as HALF the LM guys...u are picking the top 15

and Tex, the boys on this list aren't buying rides....

and Tony would have never EVER made a top 15 list in the states b4 he was a cup driver...u guys are making my points for me....

And the guys i mentioned would excel, but after a year....i am sure an adjustment period is necessary....And I am not sure if Bailey/Mayhew...whatever...reyns got in a LLM, went to sunset and could run against stompin' tom and morrow...maybe after a year or two, but its assanine to think they could compete right away.

Uhh.....What? Winning all 3 USAC divisions in a single season would get you on a top-10 drivers list for life.
