2013 TO BE BANNER YEAR FOR LUCAS OIL CAN-AM MIDGETS

The Can-Am Midget Racing Club is proud to announce the continued partnership with Lucas Oil Products for 2013.  This is the 9th year with Lucas Oil as their series sponsor. "I am honored that we have been included in the Lucas Oil 'Family' for almost a decade," said Ken Lorenz, President of the Can-Am Midget Racing Club. "Lucas Oil is a highly respected name in the racing community and they provide instant recognition to the fans and excellent support to the racers."

The Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets begins their 48th year at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, May 11th and ends the season there on Saturday, September 21st. There will be five races at Sauble Speedway, four at Flamboro, two each at Grand Bend and Sunset Speedways and one each at Peterborough Speedway, Varney Speedway and Barrie Speedway. The highlight of the season will be Sunday, August 18th at Sunset Speedway for a very special event with the ISMA Supermodifieds. "When Mark Dilley called to ask if we would be interested in running with the Supermodifieds, I knew our reputation for providing exciting open wheel racing for the fans put us in this position. They will be in for a treat that Sunday afternoon," said Lorenz. The TQ Midgets will also be at Sunset Speedway on Sunday, May 19th with the OSCAAR Super Late Models and OSCAAR Modifieds.

As of early January, the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets have four 'Rookies' lined up for 2013. Defending Champion Rob Neely, again driving for Ken and Cindy Lorenz in #74 will also field 2 cars with rookie drivers. 2012 Hurricane Midget Champion Ryan Fraser will drive #94 and six time WRKC Champion Adam Racine will drive #97. Hurricane Midget racer AJ Emms will be driving a newly built car by/for Mike Westwood as well as #44 Tommy Kyle's son Cody Kyle will be joining the field. It looks to be an banner year.

Drivers to watch out for in 2013 include Darren McLennan, 2012 Rookie of the Year Adrian Stahle, Chris Holman, who won his first feature at the last race of 2012, Mack DeMan, Jeff Blackburn, and Todd Cresswell in a new powerplant. Neely will have his work cut out for him to get a back to back championship but he will be up to the task.
