Jade Franklin Set for Third Season of Super Stock Competition
Coming off an incredible season, Jaded Motorsports is getting set for their third season of Sunset Speedway St. Onge Recreational Super Stock competition with teenager Jade Franklin behind the wheel of the No. 31.

“I think it’s going to be a good year,” he said. “There going to be some competition but I think we got the car to compete with that.”

With a slew of past champions, combined with familiar faces and rookies, Franklin feels this season “will be some of the best racing you will see,” and hopes to be right in the thick of the action all year long.

“My goals are to do the best that we can all season long,” he said. “It’s a long season and I’m not going there to worry about points, my goal every night is to win. I think it will be some of the best racing you will see.”

In his sophomore season, Franklin finished fifth in the final points standings with four feature top-fives, 11 feature top-10s and nine heat top-fives in 12 events. His efforts were awarded at the banquet with the Most Improved Driver Award.

“My thoughts on last season are pretty good,” he said. “For just my second year out racing it was great. We finished in the top 10 almost all year. We were always a front running car and hopefully we can close some of those wins in 2017.”

Notably, he finished the year off strong, leading 28 of 30 laps in one of the features en route to a third place finish. While he wasn’t able to score his first feature win at his home track, it came a couple weeks later at the Autumn Colours Classic. Forced to run the b feature, he made his way through the field after an early flat tire, taking the lead at Lap 11. From there on, there was no looking back as he cruised the rest of the way en route to the victory. He then translated it into a top-10 finish in the main event on Sunday.

“It felt great finishing 2016 on a high note,” he said. “The heat races didn’t go as we expected an Autumn Colours but we got the win in the b-main to advance to the feature. The car was great and went from the back to the front. That really have me a lot of confidence going into 2017.

“Overall 2016 was a great season but all eyes are focused on 2017 now and for what is to come.”

Jaded Motorsports continues to put together sponsorship for the season, but is proud to be supported by Lloyds Haulage, Adco Tire, Kings, North River Motorsports, Orvauto and Polished Automotive for 2017.
