Few remakes and Patriot Sprint Tour coming this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont –Monday, July 11, 2016 – Martin Bélanger – With the heavy rain over last weekend, it forced the cancellation of the July 10th events. Promoter Raymond and his brother Jacques Lavergne, decided to postpone both the Race for the Cure Sportsman Series as well as the DIRTcar Regional Series, here are the details.

The new Race for the Cure Sportsman Series had her second round scheduled yesterday with a 75-lap event, being very important for the Lavergne family, this race will be run on Sunday, August 21. The feature event will now be a 100-lap distance adding a little extra to the Sportsman driver. The admission price will be raised to 20$ in general admission. The Pro-Stock have a 40-lap feature race along with a full program on that evening.

The DIRTcar Regional Series for Modifieds will be added to this upcoming Sunday night event. The Modifieds will run a 50-lap event and time trials will be run to determine qualifying positions.

This race will adds even more to an already busy evening that will include the annual visit of the Patriot Sprint Tour, again some of the best Sprint 360 drivers from Northern New-York, Ontario and Quebec will be on hand to run a 25-lap event, it will be the final time to see Sprint Cars at Cornwall in 2016! Can Steve Poirier, leader of the Empire Super Sprints win over current leader of the PST and current record holder at Cornwall in Jared Zimbardi?

The little cousins of the Sprint Cars, the Lightning Sprints will also be in the pits for the Canada-USA Challenge that should attract a good field of cars including the father and son duo of Yannick and Jordan Poirier. The young Poirier might do double duty as he also have a Sprint Car. Some other drivers such as Guillaume Nedeirer and Alex Vigneault might be tempted to run both classes. Lou Torres and Rick Stone are amongst American drivers scheduled to be present.

The pit gates will open at 4pm and costs will be 35$ in the pit area. General admission will open its doors at 5pm and costs will be $25 for adults, 13$ for seniors and only 2$ for 16 years old and younger. Time trials for Modified will start at 6:30pm and first heat will be run at 7pm.
