TEAM MOPAR FIGHTS TO THE FINISH AT ST. EUSTACHE

September 11, 2016. Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team looked to bounce back during round number eleven of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at the Autodrome St. Eustache in St. Eustache, Quebec after disappointing race results at the two previous events.  Ranger and the team battled with changing weather conditions and tough competition to take home a gritty top ten result.

During the afternoon practice sessions on Saturday Ranger had the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge near the top of the time sheets during both sessions.  “We feel pretty good,” he said afterward.  “We think we’ll be good on the long runs in the race,” he added.

Rain showers made qualifying impossible so the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge lined up fourth based on practice times during the first session.  As the green flag waved to begin 250 laps of racing Ranger was pushing hard to reach the front of the field.  “With only two races remaining it’s all about trying to win and get as many points as possible” said the driver.

Just past the one quarter distance rain again interrupted the proceedings and the race was red flagged until conditions improved.  Shortly after the race resumed Ranger brought the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge to pit lane for fuel and fresh tires.  “We weren’t sure how if we’d be able to make the full scheduled distance so we made some adjustments and got our new tires,” he said explaining the team strategy.

Ranger powered the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge forward when green flag racing resumed pushing hard on the fresh tires.  The strategy would work against the team as the full race distance and more would be completed with a green, white checker finish.

In the closing laps Ranger continued to push hard and would cross the finish line in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge with an eighth place result.  “Certainly we wanted to do better but with the changing conditions and our strategy we got the most points we could.  The team did a really good job today working hard to make the car better.  I think we’ll be very strong next weekend at Kawartha,” stated Ranger.

After eleven races Andrew Ranger is second in the overall championship standings.

Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge get back in action this coming Saturday, September 17th for the final event of the season at Kawartha Speedway near Peterborough, Ontario.
