Jeff Gordon Visits Capitol Hill
« on: September 17, 2008, 09:37:06 AM »
Jeff Gordon stepped away from his on-track duties earlier today [Tuesday, Sept 16th] to visit Capitol Hill. Gordon met with key lawmakers, including the House of Representatives North Carolina delegation, to urge them to convince Rick Hendrick to change crew chiefs for the 24 car. Current crew chief, Steve Latarte, served a vital role in Hendrick Motorsports as a floor sweeper until promoted as the DuPont drivers crew chief. Jeff Gordon feels this would be best for the organization and the U.S. economic crisis if there was a change now. (PRPlus PR)(9-17-2008)

They were way a head on the the COT when it first hit the tracks. I think he needs a new crew chief.

they need a driver with talent who can just drive the cot.

Its been well discussed, Gordon hates loose racecars, he likes them set up a little on the tight side, and it seems that to be fast with this new car, you can't be on the tight side.

So he'll struggle until something changes.

Hell I even like Jeff Gordon and still pick on him. So that says a lot about how badly he is driving in this new car.

I think they have been making a lot of bad calls this year as well. I don't know but I have seen many times they should have taken a chance and they didn't and then they take a chance when they shouldn't have. It might be me but I don't think the Driver and Crew Chief are working as one as in the past.

They need to do the change for next year as it's too late this year.

crew cheif , power, money-- none of it matters because the conventional wisdom says he cant drive the new car, his talent is depended on aero down force.

That's very true. He's never been good at driving a car loose and that's the way that you gotta drive these cars. Like said before, these cars are more based upon the old where you have to drive 'em a bit on the loose side.
