At 11 pm last night there were around 25 haulers and 20 or so campers in the parking lot. Cars I recognized were 81 Mercer, B10 Balson, 71 McHattie, 98 Graham, 7.3 Hayward, 38 Hooker, 43 Woolsey and  ?? Amanda Connolly. I'm betting on full fields in all classes and get there early for a parking spot on Sunday. With this weather and the huge amount of campers parking on the road may happen.

What a great day..... weather was perfect ,the racing was awesome ,late model count was a little low and I would have liked to see some of the big names associated with that car type but overall I got my money's worth big time. The food choices were the best I have seen at a track in years, fresh ceaser salad !! I was impressed that they let the people camped or like me , slept in their cars in the parking lot, into the grounds in the morning  to use the washroom and get breakfast when I hadn't even bought my ticket yet. I'm glad I finally got a chance to thank our man Derek for the hard work he does all season taking pics and  result reports and his great website . Best racing experiance I had this season bar none.  :)

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself Duken, but I ,on the other hand, was left a little disappointed. The LM count was low at 16 and many of the top runners weren't there. The Modifieds were even lower at 12; the Mods have never drawn a good field at this event and I question the wisdom of having them. Maybe move them to Saturday and have them run a 25 lap feature, 12 cars just doesn't warrant a 40 lap race.
Now to the thing I had the biggest problem with - counting caution laps. You just can't count caution laps on a third mile track in 50 and 75 lap races and still put on a good show. There was no need for it, the weather was great and they were nowhere near curfew, yet caution laps were counted in both Thunders and LLM. Almost half the LLM race was run under caution. I don't blame the drivers for it, when you start 30 cars on a third mile track where passing is very difficult you are going to have a lot of cautions. I was looking forward to the LLM feature and ended up watching over 30 laps of it run under the yellow.
I've been to every Autumn Colours Classic run and in my opinion some of the shine seems to be wearing off of it. There was a time a few years ago when it was a must attend event for any driver, but it doesn't seem that way anymore. Maybe I'm just getting harder to please, but this event seems to be slipping downwards.

the event is getting better in my eyes, but the counted caution laps were incredibly unneccessary
