Graham Racing is Ready for Brighton Speedway’s Late Season Charge

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

It seems difficult to believe, but its true.

There is only about a month remaining in the exciting 2018 regular season at Brighton Speedway. With the year’s final track points decided following the Saturday, September 8th event, the duo of Craig and Brandt Graham will be looking to put together strong finishes in the Pro Late Model and Canadian Modified divisions. The father and son teammates are hoping to end the year on a high note and possibly move up a couple of positions in the final standings.

“Like everyone else in the sport, we’ve had a season of ups and downs but Brandt and I are still learning about the differences between asphalt and dirt racing,” Craig Graham said. “The crew has given us a couple of great cars since the start of the year and that’s always the first step toward achieving our goals.”

Heading down the home stretch at the 3rd of a mile Northumberland County clay oval, the popular pairing from Orono, Ontario is confident in the team’s ability to reach its late-season mission. Brandt Graham is currently 7th, but only about 200 markers out of the top 5 in the Canadian Modified chase. Even though an early season rollover forced him to the sidelines for a few weeks, Craig Graham occupies 12th spot the Pro Late Model standings and still has a chance to move up in the running order.

“Consistency has always been the key to success at any level of this sport,” said Craig Graham. “Over the years, some of the best racers in history have earned track titles and series championships by logging a steady string of top 5 and top 10 finishes. We owe it to our fans to give the best effort possible whenever we unload the cars.”

Graham Racing road trip: Friday, August 3rd Craig Graham and the #98 team made a last-minute decision to head to Ohsweken Speedway for a Late Model invitational event. Arriving at the track near Brantford, Ontario about 10 minutes before the scheduled driver’s meeting, the crew wanted to get a little track time at a different venue and came away with a 2nd place showing in their qualifying heat, an appearance in the dash and a finish of 9th in the 24 car ‘A’ main.

“I’m super happy with the way things turned-out on a night when our only intention was to try out a different track.”
