CBRT DRIVERS SET FOR DELAWARE

June 1, 2017. Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) will be back in action this weekend as the NASCAR Pinty’s Series returns to Delaware Speedway just outside London, Ontario for the first time since 2013 for the Choko/Fast Eddie 250 presented by Havoline.  Coming off a couple of impressive showings in the opener by CBRT drivers the team is looking for more success.

Making his Pinty’s Series debut is 17 year old Armani Williams hailing from Detroit, Michigan who will drive the #28 Racing4Autism Dodge.  Williams began racing at age 8 and has quickly progressed from Karts to the Pro Truck Series and the ARCA Truck Series and last year competed in the NASCAR Combine.

Williams was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at age 2 and will be the first driver diagnosed with autism to participate in a NASCAR event.  Race4Autism Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase autism awareness and be active in creating solution based opportunities that will provide life enrichment opportunities to individuals and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Race4Autism Foundation is a licensed non-profit 501(c) 3 entity.

CBRT General Manager Joey McColm is excited to assist Williams in his efforts.  “First off, he’s a terrific young man, not to mention a talented driver,” said McColm.  And to be able to work with him on this kind of program that can succeed on the track but help a lot of people through education and fund raising, is really special” he added.

Also racing this weekend for CBRT will be Larry Jackson in the #25 CBRT Dodge.  Jackson had a solid run in the opening round.  The Oakville, Ontario fire fighter also works many hours in the CBRT race shop preparing the cars for each weekend’s race.

“Larry actually had a shift the night before the first race and was out on a couple of calls” said McColm.  “He finished up and got to the track and did an impressive job.  That’s dedication,” he stated.

The CBRT drivers will hit the track on Saturday June 3rd for practice and qualifying in the afternoon.  The green flag waves for the Choko/Fast Eddie 250 presented by Havoline at 7PM ET.  This race will be televised on TSN on Saturday June 10th at 3:30PM ET.

Be sure to check out the new CBRT website www.cbrteams.com and there are still openings for interested drivers to join the 2017 season.  Find out more through the website. The NASCAR Pinty’s Series consists of 13 races on ovals and street courses across Canada.
