T.J. Bell’s Top-10 Streak Stopped by Early Race Wreck in Texas

Fort Worth, Texas (November 3, 2008)  – Entering the Chevy Silverado 350K on Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway, T.J. Bell was the only driver to finish in the top-10 in the last five races.  Bell and his TRG Motorsports team were hoping to keep that streak alive at the 1.5-mile high-banked oval, and their chances were great after Bell qualified the No. 7 Home4theHolidays.org Chevrolet in eighth position for the 147-lap race.  But after completing only one circuit around the Fort Worth oval, Bell was caught up in a multi-truck wreck that killed his shot at his eighth top-10 in the last ten races.

"I'm not really sure what happened,” said Bell of the melee that took place only two laps after the drop of the green flag.  “You know guys racing super hard at the very beginning of the race.  It’s just a shame that it took a great Chevy Silverado/Home 4 the Holiday's truck out of this Chevy Silverado race tonight.  We were really, really good.”

The wreck happened on the front stretch just as the field was making their second circuit around the speedway.  Bell was running nose-to-tail on the high side when the leaders took it three wide.  The truck sandwiched in the middle got loose, pushed up into the truck on the outside and spun in front of the entire field.  Bell checked up and got slammed from behind and sent into the outside wall, making hard impact on the driver’s side.  Fortunately, Bell was seen and released from the infield care center without any injuries.

“We’re looking forward to Phoenix next week,” said Bell, who will put this race behind him and head to Phoenix International Raceway next week.  “I guess we'll regroup here and head to Phoenix with our new sponsor SpongeTech and keep moving forward."  Bell will debut a new sponsor at the one-mile Arizona oval with SpongeTech, an innovative product line that puts soap right into the sponge and releases it over multiple uses and can be used in a variety of applications.  Just wet the sponge and squeeze to use.  Rinse.  Repeat.  It’s that simple!  SpongeTech’s line of unique products is designed to eliminate mess and save you time.  For more information on their versatile family of products, please visit www.spongetech.com

Bell will debut the No. 7 SpongeTech Chevrolet Silverado at Phoenix International Speedway during the Lucas Oil 150 on Friday, November 7th.  Live television coverage will begin on the SPEED Channel at 7:30 p.m. ET with radio coverage coming to you live courtesy of MRN Radio.

That sucks that it came to an end as he was definately starting to finally show his true talent and really turning some people by surprise - such as myself. Hopefully he does good at Phoenix :)
