Several improvements added for 2017 at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Friday, April 28, 2017 – Martin Bélanger – The countdown is continuing towards the start of the 2017 at Cornwall Motor Speedway as we are 8 days away from opening night! As drivers and fans will arrive at the speedway they notice that the Lavergne Family continued to improve the facility to enhance the experience.

Here is the list of improvements that were done at different areas!

More than 400 loads of clay were brought in last fall to improve the racing surface; the inclination of the backstretch was also changed to increase the security aspect when cars are falling of the surface, this change might bring more speed to the races.

To help prepare the track a new water truck was purchased over the winter and some features were added to offer more flexibilities in the watering the clay, this will be beneficial in speeding things up on race night especially during intermission time. A more recent towing was also purchased to facilitate the work of the towing crew.

The pit stands were raised by 1 foot and half to enhance the visibility of fans and race teams as well as cement blocks were added in front of these stands to improve the security.

Some work was done in the women’s washroom as 8 toilets were changed as this was a changed that needed to be addressed.

All three towers now have new speakers in them; this will enhance the experience for all booth occupants as they will hear our announcers and be more aware of what is going on at the race track. A new speaker was also added in the pits to help race team understand instructions coming from the pit tower.

When the survey was done earlier on Facebook, one of the things that were requested by many was the Pizza Logs, well management listened and we will be offering in 2017 replacing regular pizza. The Pizza Logs are really tasteful and once you had some you will want more!

These are all improvements that might fall under the radar for several but part of the Lavergne family long-term plan to keep the Cornwall Speedway part of the Dirt track racing elite, a reputation that was built and maintained by Ron Morin and his family.
