Nigel Buttivant Scores First Career Midget Victory
Taking the lead in the early stages, Nigel Buttivant didn’t look back en route to scoring his first career OSCAAR Midget feature victory at Peterborough Speedway.
The first heat saw Monty Farrell jump out to the early lead, but Ryan Brown was able to make the pass in the late stages to snag the win. Farrell finished second, followed by Buttivant and Parker Bowman.
The second heat saw Brown lead flag-to-flag for the daily double ahead of Buttivant and Farrell. Meanwhile, Bowman failed to finish due to an issue on the opening lap.
The feature saw Farrell led the opening three laps, before being passed by Buttivant. Buttivant then led the rest of the way for the victory ahead of Brown. Farrell ran second till running into problems on Lap 12, while Bowman completed three laps before being done for the event.
The OSCAAR Midgets will be back in action on June 17 at Grand Bend Speedway for their second event of 2017.
