Sunset Invitational
« on: August 01, 2007, 06:14:52 PM »
With the date of the second invitational getting close,i for one am hoping for a good turnout of 4s and thunders. Last one was quite good.It was nice to see so many cars show up from other tracks.Plus it was also good to see so many late model drivers behind the wheel of a thunder.

Well I may be a little premature in saying it but I would like to be there. We'll see if it happens.

The Sunbird will make its first Thursday night after missing last years and the one in July, hope some Peterborough Four Funs come make it a little more fun.

Only Thunder cars from the 5 track coalition Mosport, Peterboro, Kawartha, Sunset and Varney or any othe track that does not have a performance advantage will be allowed to race at invitational. Looks like no Barrie thunders. This is in the Sunset news section of their website.

that's ridiculous! let them race the old style thunders at least. Is there some sort of reason why they are not allowing this?

I have read the Sunset rules and I'm pretty sure my car would tech. I run a Rochester carb (for now), stock GM heads (for now), a 10 bolt and I have no "weight jacking devices" installed in my car. Those are the only differences in the rules that I can see. My car was a Sunset car in '05 anyway so I thought it should be close. Spencer please let us know if we should bother coming, if we are going to be turned away because we come from Barrie Speedway then we won't go where we are not wanted. And thanks for letting us know.
