INSIDE TRACK MOTORSPORT NEWS TO SPONSOR AWARD AT CANADIAN SPRINT CAR NATIONALS
By Tommy Goudge (July 9, 2009) – As Ohsweken Speedway’s Canadian Sprint Car Nationals event continues to expand, so too does the list of sponsors and awards presented each year. This year Inside Track Motorsport News and Ohsweken Speedway are pleased to announce the creation of a new award recognizing the accomplishments of Canadian drivers in the event.
“The Canadian Sprint Car Nationals continues to grow in stature each year, and it's an honour for Inside Track to support this event with the ‘Inside Track Motorsport News Top Canadian Finisher Award’” said David Weber, Inside Track’s Managing Editor.
A $500 prize is on the line, to be awarded to the top Canadian finisher in the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals feature event. The top Canadian finisher in last year’s edition of the Nationals was Quebec driver Steve Poirier, who came home seventh. Poirier is the only Canadian who has won the event, as he visited victory lane consecutively in 2006 and 2007.

The Empire Super Sprints event is now slated for Thursday, September 17, followed by the Night Before the Nationals presented by Village Pizza with Sit-n-Bull Construction and Village Café on Friday, September 18, and the Fifth Annual Arrow Express Canadian Sprint Car Nationals on Saturday, September 19.
