Adrian Stahle 'Sweeps' Lucas Oil Can-Am Midget Doubleheader Weekend

Adrian Stahle, in his 2nd year with the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets, won both feature events at Sauble Speedway on the long Canadian Holiday weekend. Coming from his 6th place starting spot on Saturday night, Stahle took the lead from Darren McLennan on lap 9 and motored to the win in this caution free 25 lap race. From green to checkered the race ran in 6 minutes. On Sunday night Stahle, again took over the lead from McLennan on lap 23 and held on for the win making it a sweep of the weekend. In Victory Circle on Sunday night Stahle said "It is just a dream. You come in with a game plan but it can change every lap. I want to thank my Dad for setting up a great car and my Mom for all her encouragement. I also want to thank Andy Mackereth and Craig Mackereth for having faith in me to drive their car. The list is long but I have so many people to also thank for their help. Number one is Lucas Oil, as my sponsor and the also the series sponsor for the Can-Am Midgets, Becker Brothers Towing, Bell Cartage, Larca Custom Machining, Paragon Collision Centre, Flamboro Machine Shop, Edelweiss Tavern, Crown Steering and Brake, Can-Am Steel Products, RCM, Delta and Glenco."  With these two wins, Stahle is now in second place in the points battle, only 18 points away from leader Rob Neely.

At the drop of the green on Sunday night, McLennan took the lead from his pole position with Rob DiVenanzo in second and Barry Dunn in the third spot. Caution came out at the beginning of the second lap in turn one as Corey Moesker got loose and collected David Balych, Tyler Turnbull and Dylon Smith. Smith went into the pits ending his race as the other three drivers went to the back of the field for the restart. As the green was thrown McLennan remained at the top followed by Dunn, Mack DeMan was now in 3rd as DiVenanzo fell to the fourth spot. Stahle rounded the top five.
One lap later Rookie Cody Winn spun bringing out the caution. At the restart McLennan kept the lead with Dunn in second, DeMan in third, Stahle in the fourth spot and a very strong charge by Rookie Adam Racine now had him in the top five from his 14th place starting spot.

With 10 laps in McLennan broke away from the field. DeMan now was in second place, Dunn in third as Racine passed Stahle for the fourth spot. Two laps later Stahle got around not only Racine but also Dunn as DeMan fell to fifth. Stahle was now in second place and set his sites on leader McLennan. On lap 16 Rookie Cody Kyle went into the wall in turn one taking him out of the race and bringing out the caution. At the restart McLennan held the lead with Stahle on his bumper. Racine was now in third followed by DeMan and Neely. Hard charger Dunn passed Neely one lap later for 5th place. Moesker, coming through the field from his earlier mishap on lap 2, was now in 6th place after passing Neely.

Stahle was all over the back of McLennan looking for an opening to take the lead. Coming out of turn two with 3 laps to go Stahle powered by McLennan and took the lead. Racine was third followed by DeMan as Moesker moved into the top five. Stahle took the win, his second of the weekend and was very excited as he got out of his car and accepted the checkered flag. McLennan finished second with Racine, DeMan and Moesker finishing in the top five.

Heats were won by DeMan and McLennan. The 'B' Feature was won by Rookie Adam Racine.

STAHLE CLASS OF THE FIELD IN FAST LUCAS OIL CAN-AM MIDGET FEATURE RACE

Adrian Stahle was the class of the field as the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets headed north to Sauble Speedway for the long Canadian Holiday weekend. Starting in 6th place in this 25 lap feature race, Stahle took the lead from Darren McLennan on lap 9 and began to lap the field while taking the win. Accepting the checkered flag Stahle said "We called Andy Mackereth for some advise on the set up and it seemed to be the key to tonight's win. I want to thank Jason Thom and everyone at Sauble Speedway for this great weekend and Lucas Oil for all their support. This one's for my Dad for all his hard work."

Darren McLennan took the lead from his pole position at the start followed by David Balych and Rookie Tyler Turnbull. Corey Moesker was fourth and Stahle rounded the top five. Moesker and Stahle both passed Turnbull on the next lap and set sites on Balych as McLennan had command of the field. On lap 5 Rob Neely now joined the top five. Stahle passed Moesker for third and sized up Balych making the pass one lap later. Now Stahle began to wheel in McLennan. As McLennan went wide coming out of turn four Stahle took the inside lane and took the lead.
Mack DeMan, winner of the previous race at Barrie Speedway on July 20th, battled all day with left rear suspension problems and began to fall through the field. He broke a component in the rear suspension and it took him out on lap 9.  By halfway Stahle had a commanding lead as he turned quick times in the low 14 second range lap after lap. McLennan kept in second with his own battle with the strong running Balych. Moesker, in the fourth spot, had Neely fight with him for that position.

Balych and McLennan fought side by side for four more laps until Balych found an opportunity and got the spot. Stahle held a straightaway from the rest of the field as the laps quickly ticked off. Stahle, Balych, McLennan, Moesker and Neely all kept their position until the checkered flag flew. The race was caution free and completed in 6 minutes.

Heats were won by Neely and DeMan. The 'B' Feature was won by Tom Kyle. Rookies Tyler Turnbull and Adam Racine finished in the top ten.
